Nornir Dance Belly Dance FAQs

Open enrollment happens multiple times a year. The best way to be notified is to follow Malia on Instagram or Facebook.  Once enrolled you will be sent a downloadable Welcome Packet, song lyrics, and instructions for your first class.  Classes are open to all genders age 12+.

Registration fee is $35 and is non-refundable. Monthly tuition for one 90-minute weekly class is $115.  Family discounts apply. No drop-ins.

Uniform: T-shirt $22, Custom Hip Scarf $40

Classes are held at Evergeen Dance Academy, 2100 SE 164th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98683 (next to Big Lots). We are in the first studio, a beautiful space with marley floors, full length mirrors, high ceilings, and large windows. Please do not wear street shoes in the studio.

All Nornir Belly Dance students are required to purchase and wear a studio uniform along with black leggings, pants or shorts.  The studio uniform consists of a studio t-shirt ($22) and a custom-made hip scarf ($40) payable through Venmo or cash. We dance barefoot, but ballet slippers or foot wraps are encouraged for sensitive feet. No street shoes allowed.

Water, yoga mat, finger cymbals, uniform, and any props you may need to help you during stretching (i.e. blocks, straps, etc).

All new students join Beginner/Level 1 class regardless of experience. The world of belly dance has many unique styles and variations of movement. Learning Nordic Fusion style from the beginning is required for class cohesion. Advancement to Intermediate/Level 2 only happens with instructor approval.
